Curney - Location

Curney Farm is a small farm on the Shropshire/Wales border in an area known as the Welsh Marches;  the nearest small village (a hamlet really)  is Newcastle-on-Clun which is a couple of miles away, and a few miles further on is the village of Clun itself.  In his famous poem "A Shropshire Lad" published in the late 1890's, the poet A.E. Houseman  included the line

"Clunton and Clunbury, Clungunford and Clun are the quietest places under the sun"

The same still applies today. The nearest towns of any size are Ludlow to the south and Shrewsbury to the north. The farm is approximately 1200 feet up and is in an area of outstanding natural beauty. We are probably biased, but feel a truer description is "extremely" outstanding natural beauty. Have a look at the Photo Gallery  part of the website to see the sights immediately around the farm and slightly further afield.
