Timber Cladding Old Stable Block
The former cattle-pens at top of the yard had been partially rebuilt in breeze block
and were something of an eyesore. We decided to cover the blocks with wood cladding
and at the same time the door openings were enlarged - in case they might be needed
as stables. Enlarging the doorways meant that the existing doors had to be taken
apart and rebuilt! One door isn't too bad, doing eight was a chore.
The view as you came out of the house.
One side clad, a start made on opening the doorframes.
Enlarged doorframe, large gap in door!
Second side ready for sheets.
Apprentice at work creosoting.
The nearly finished result.
