Terrace

Another “good idea” which turned out to be more tricky and expensive than first thought. Concept was that it would be nice to have somewhere to sit outside and have a drink in the evening (warm evening are unfortunately a rarity at 1300ft!). Trickiest part was sourcing hardcore to infill the terrace - took quite a bit of scouring the farm and demolishing redundant cattle feeders etc. Although it was firmly wackered down, there was some settlement and we had to take up and relay the slabs after a couple of years..

Front view of house, with new windows installed and front garden wall removed, old door stiil there.

Concrete foundation pad and breeze block internal wall by me.

Using stone from old pig sties for facing brick

Sourcing hard core for inside more difficult than expected. Facing brickwork by Chris expected,Facing brick work by Chris.

Patio slab laying also by Chris

Finished result.
