Electrics
Originally the farm had two separately metered power supplies, both fed from an incoming supply into an antiquated fuse box in the office (see picture). One supply was for the house and the other for the farm buildings, with the latter supply cable running overhead across the farmyard to the workshop building. Surprisingly, the farm building electrics were in a good state of repair, presumably because of farm regulations. The house electrics were not in such a good state of repair and the house was completely rewired with a modern consumer unit, however during the changeover some temporary arrangements were necessary! In addition, for cosmetic reasons, the overhead cable to he workshop was replaced with an armoured underground cable.
