Windows The old single glazed wooden windows and frames were removed and replaced with oak framed double glazed units. Additional window added to kitchen, French doors added to rear hall. |

Roof The slate tiles were removed, roof timbers treated, two chimneys removed, roof felted

Utility Room A utility room and new entrance hall was added. |

Plumbing and Heating The old part central heating system heated by the Stanley cooker range was replaced
with a full hot water/CH system heated by oil- |

Electrics Original electrics were in very poor condition, house completely rewired. |

Insulation House had solid stone walls and no roof insulation, heat loss was therefore rather high. All external walls were insulated with 2" solid foam insulation and roof with 6 " fibreglass. |

Kitchen Chimney breast removed to provide more space and new window openings to give more light. Slate floor repaired and restored including replacement flags, ceiling joists and doors stripped, AGA and new kitchen units fitted. |

Downstairs- Remove wall between old pantry and hall, form new door into dining room, seal up original doorway. Convert existing window into French windows |

Upstairs - Chimney breast removed from main bedroom, various rooms reshaped with walls and doors repositioned. All upstairs floorboards taken out and replaced with flooring grade chipboard. |

Garden A continuing work in progress! So far the main effort has gone into tidying up (see above) and laying a lawn in the front part of the back garden. More recently a pond was constructed (see below). |
